Joyce B. Spooner is Olde Dartmouth Sotheby’s local liaison to the islands of Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Cuttyhunk, specializing in clients who are either looking for a vacation home on the islands, or relocating from the islands to the south coast. Having lived on the Vineyard for thirty-five years, she is familiar with all aspects of island life, understands the individual character of each island town, and recognizes the particular nature of the island market. A native of Fairhaven, she is also familiar with the different towns on the south coast and is in the unique position of being able to help her clients find the right neighborhood and community for them. She is committed to welcoming new clients into the Sotheby’s family where, not only their needs can be met, but also their dreams can be realized with understanding, friendliness, and professionalism.
With a background as an English major at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Joyce entered the entrepreneurial life of the Vineyard and, like many islanders in such a seasonal community, worked in many different fields including publishing, advertising, teaching and real estate. She is a successful author of children’s books including The Story of the Little Black Dog from the legendary Black Dog Tavern on Martha’s Vineyard. Although still writing, she is committed to sharing her diverse talents and experience with her clients at
Olde Dartmouth Sotheby’s International Realty as they explore the benefits of south coast and island living.
